Sheilds Up is a very good free site to test your computers invisibility on the web. On this site you will also learn about safety and privacy issues. (give it a try!)

The purpose of this page is to post virus alerts. As I become aware of new virus in the wild I will post those to this section. I am in hopes this will help everyone. Please if you know of a virus that is causing havoc to computer users, Please do some checking first though, I am busy, as I am sure most of us are. Virus hoaxes are almost as dangerous to the internet as the actual virus.
Posting to your friends with the best of intentions can cause a lot of harm if you are passing on non-validated information. You can imagine your friends passing on your warning and their friends passing it on. This exponentially loads the isp's and causes breakdowns in communication as mail boxes become crowded with useless information. Hoaxes can also encourage one to reformat their hard drive when it is not needed, causing loss of data.
Virus Information Library
The best place to check your info is the experts such as Mcaffee, Norton, Microsoft, etc.
Lets all work together to make the internet the most useful of inventions that it is.
The following virus I received in email a few days ago and Norton caught it right away. Thanks to Domainmasters for this following posting. Please stay net aware and net safe!!

Dear Valued DomainMasters.net Client,
It has come to our attention that there has been an increase in the distribution of the Klez virus. It also appears that this virus has at least 8 variations. This virus will infect all versions of Windows. MACINTOSH COMPUTERS ARE NOT AFFECTED, as of yet. This virus comes through with a random subject, message and attachment. This is why it is not possible for our filters to catch the virus at the server level. The attachment may run by itself just by clicking on the message, or it may prompt you to download and run a file. If you are prompted to download and run the file, you do have the option of cancelling it, thereby stopping the virus. Once the attachment is run, the virus will send itself to everyone in your address book. The virus uses its own STMP engine, so you may not even know that the messages are being sent. The virus is network-aware, meaning that it will infect other computers on your network. It is possible that this virus will corrupt anti-virus programs making them inoperable. The virus then drops a backdoor trojan program called Elkern that will let another person have access to your machine. Last, the virus will overwrite or delete files on your computer on a specific day. That specific day is different depending on the variation of the Klez virus that infected your machine. It ranges from once every month to once every 2 months until your computer is inoperable. The usual date of this is the 6th day of every odd numbered month. It is recommended that you install all the Microsoft critical updates and have a current updated anti-virus program. You can get the critical updates from: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com You can find more information and removal instructions for versions Klez.A, Klez.D, Klez.E, and Klez.H respectively at:
This is a free online virus scanner. Please note that this virus scanner may not find the virus depending on how deeply the virus has infected your computer. Best regards,
Richard Williams
